The Boys is set in a world where superheroes are real but aren’t necessarily the good guys. The series follows a group of vigilantes who are determined to prove to the world that most superheroes are in fact corrupt, evil and regularly abuse their powers. Original, compelling and wonderfully violent and graphic, The Boys is for anyone who loves a good action film or series.
Plus, The Boys also has rather relevant themes that are explored cleverly and every member of this ensemble cast gives a powerful performance; especially Starr.
Broadchurch
8.4 IMDb score, stars David Tennant, Olivia Colman & Jodie Whittaker, Crime, Drama & Mystery, released in 2013, 3 seasons
Broadchurch follows detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller as they attempt to solve the murder of an eleven-year-old boy that took place in their seemingly friendly small town. Incredibly compelling, any fan of the crime genre should watch Broadchurch immediately as it’s one of the best crime series of recent times.

Fresh Meat is rather relatable and features clever humour as well as some raunchier moments. The show is reminiscent of The Inbetweeners but rather than being set in high school, it’s set at uni; plus, Thomas who starred in The Inbetweeners also stars in Fresh Meat.

House follows Dr Gregory House, a brilliant but anti-social and prickly doctor who each episode has to treat a patient with a mystery illness. A classic procedural show but focusing on medicine rather than crime, House is extremely enjoyable because it’s clever and Laurie’s simply a delight to watch.
Plus, the overarching story of House’s drug addiction is fascinating.

Intriguing and thought-provoking, check out The Man In The High Castle if you enjoy political dramas.
Mr Bean
8.6 IMDb score, stars Rowan Atkinson, Comedy, released in 1990, 1 season
Mr Bean is a classic. If you’re wanting something simple that’ll make you laugh then this is the series for you. It’s incredible that with hardly any dialogue Atkinson can portray so much emotion and provoke viewers to cry with laughter at all of Mr Bean’s hilarious antics.
If you’ve had a tough day, put Mr Bean on and you’ll instantly cheer up.

Extremely entertaining, Sneaky Pete is smart, suspenseful and charming.
Star Trek: Picard
7.5 IMDb score, stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill & Michelle Hurd, Action, Adventure & Drama, released in 2020, 2 seasons
Alright, I’ll level with you. I think you’ll only truly enjoy Star Trek: Picard if you’re a Star Trek fan; especially The Next Generation and Nemesis. That being said, Star Trek: Picard is still entertaining for non-Trekkies. Stewart, as always, is brilliant and the show tackles tough but relevant themes with enjoyable finesse.
If you are a Trekkie, you’ve probably already watched Star Trek: Picard but if not, this is your sign to go and do it.

This series is a reboot of all the previous films based on Tom Clancy’s books that have had Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine play Jack Ryan.
Krasinski does an excellent job and is actually considered by many as the best Jack Ryan. If you like action shows and films, you’ll love Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as it is action-packed.
