Hasbulla Arrested For Joyriding After Wild Russian Wedding

TikTok sensation, UFC ambassador and grumpy little man Hasbulla Magomedov (a.k.a “Mini Khabib”) has found himself in hot water this week. After getting arrested for traffic violations following wild behaviour at a friend’s wedding in Dagestan, Russia, a shocking but admittedly hilarious video has surfaced of the incident and its fallout.

Hasbulla has long been an obsession of ours here at DMARGE. From his much-hyped Australian visit to his money-making antics with the NELK boys, we’ve always had a curiosity regarding the MMA-adjacent viral sensation.

This week, however, the internet sensation has let himself down… Or just lived up to his meme-worthy reputation. According to Red Corner MMA, Hasbulla and his entourage were detained by police for a series of driving offences after going a little crazy on the highways of Dagestan while in the throws of celebrating a friend’s wedding.

Obnoxiously blocking traffic before doing doughnuts in the centre of a large main road, it’s hard to deny that the gang were interfering with other drivers. A video posted on social media by Dagestan’s internal affairs ministry showed the group of motors, including one carrying Hasbulla, raising hell on the highways…

In peak Russian style, Hasbulla was cruising in an old Lada, while a Rolls-Royce drove ahead of him. The Lada can be seen hooning in the video as a BMW and a Lexus do synchronised doughies. Yeah the lads.

The video also shows the Lada with a huge crash mark before the clip quickly cuts to a police line-up of men, including the infamous Hasbulla. The group were charged with administrative violations before Hasbulla’s official Twitter account hit back by posing the hashtag “#FreeBulla”. A post on Hasbulla’s Instagram read as follows:

“We decided to hype a little bit. That won’t happen again, people we apologise. We had to answer for it a little bit. I wasn’t driving either.”

Dagestan’s internal affairs ministry shared footage following the arrest on Telegram, where it wrote that unbridled wedding fun in Dagestan is known to many within and far beyond the borders of the republic: “In the absence of other ways of entertainment, such a primitive option is still extremely popular”.

These vehicular hijinks come just months after Hasbulla tried selling his personal BMW 7 Series on social media, the tiny troublemaker seeming to be giving up the hoon life for good… Looks like he’s still got that dog in him.

Earlier this year, the UFC star also found himself in a difficult situation when backlash erupted after a video surfaced showing Hasbulla hitting a cat and pulling its ear. Hasbulla defended his treatment of the cat, Barsik, saying it was misbehaving and he was simply dolling out some much-needed discipline.

We’ve all been guilty of going a little overboard at a wedding now and then – I certainly have, anyway – but there’s an important difference: when I gently abuse a free bar, the only thing at risk is my relationship with my future father-in-law. When Hasbulla and his mates tear up the streets, they could genuinely put members of the public at risk.

However you feel about the incident in isolation, what’s becoming clear is that Hasbulla might not have the requisite media training to handle the level of global fame to which he’s quickly become accustomed. Much as I love the pint-sized star, he needs to go carefully or his time in the limelight might be over just as quickly as it began.
