Israel targeted air raids in densely populated areas of Gaza

Israel has continued its attacks on Gaza, killing 21 people, including women and children, in response to what it says were rockets fired by Palestinian groups. Gaza’s health ministry said seven people were killed on Wednesday, a day after Israeli strikes on the Palestinian territory left 15 dead. These strikes come, according to Israel, in response to recent attacks on them. Israel says Egypt is trying to mediate a ceasefire to bring an immediate end to the violence. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned civilian deaths in Gaza as “unacceptable” and appealed for them to “stop immediately” and for all parties to exercise maximum restraint, deputy UN spokesperson Farhan Haq said on Wednesday.
