Two giant pandas sent by China arrive in Qatar ahead of World Cup

Two giant pandas have finally arrived in Qatar from China at Al Khor Panda House on Wednesday, where officials say the climate has been adjusted to suit the furry animals. The two pandas from China were received at the Panda House where they will start a new life while opening a new chapter in the diplomatic cooperation between Qatar and China. The pandas came as a gift from China to Qatar while the country is hosting the World Cup 2022. 'Suhail' and 'Thuraya', also known as 'Jing Jing' and 'Si Hai' in Chinese, are the first-ever pandas in the Middle East. They will also undergo 21 days of quarantine before the public can meet them. The pandas will be taken care of by an international team of doctors and specialists. Al Jazeera’s Natasha Ghoneim reports on panda diplomacy from Al Khor, Qatar.
