US gun violence: Controversy over banning assault rifles

United States President Joe Biden is expected to mark the first anniversary of a mass shooting in Texas, in which 19 students and two teachers were killed.
The shooting at a school in Uvalde led to calls for stricter gun control measures.
Activists say the widespread availability of AR-15-style assault rifles has led to an increase in mass shootings.
The gun is now banned in several US states.
