Crossing the Mediterranean: Tunisia intercepts 17,000 people
Tunisia's coastguard says it has intercepted more than 17,000 people trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe from the country since January.
In the same period last year, only 3,000 tried to make the journey.
But thousands more are making it to Europe.
