Staybridge Suites is a hotel brand of International Hotel Group that I have not experienced yet. It is the concept of residential stays, where one feels at home. It means the rooms are larger have a dedicated seating area and come with a fully equipped kitchen. There are also facilities like self-service laundry machines, a 24/7 gym and The Pantry a 24/7 in-house convenience store. This hotel brand started in North America but is rapidly expanding abroad. The Staybridge Suites The Hague Parliament opened in late 2018 and targets the extended-stay market for The Hague, the political capital of the Netherlands with many embassies and international institutions.
The Staybridge Suites The Hague Parliament is as its name suggest located right opposite the Dutch parliament the historical Binnenhof. From the hotel, you can see the world’s oldest parliament building that is still in use. You also get great views of the Court Pond in Dutch known as the Hofvijver. Access to the hotel is easy it is a short 5-minute taxi ride away from Den Haag Central station or you can take Tram 16 and get off at Buitenhof.

I could take in the Court Pond ‘Hofvijver’ and see how Dutch people are spending their summer here.
Make some time to explore the Binnenhof the parliament building as I did with my daughter.
Just a five-minute stunning walk is the famous Mauritshuis museum, famous for Vermeer’s Girl with a pearl earring painting. To avoid disappointment you need to book a time slot in advance for this.
Staybridge Suites Reception
This hotel building is spectacular, like The Hague itself. Behind the old face of the building outside houses a huge atrium connecting the old and the more modern parts of the hotel. I loved the contemporary ceiling light hanging from the atrium. There is a huge amount of natural light coming down, feeling you are outside but still protected from the weather elements.
From the moment I entered the feng shui was vibrant. The Pantry, which is open 24 hours, enjoys complimentary coffee and tea all day. This is why I was in coffee heaven. The Atrium area had a nice energy to meet people to have a nice social chat.
Monumental 1 Bedroom Suite
I stayed at the Monumental one-bedroom suite which was so relaxing and much fun. It has views of the stunning Parliament building. The room looked like a large blue painted traditional library including the moving stairs but without the books. A clever room divider created a living section as well as a sleeping section. Each section has its own TV, with the living section TV inside the traditional fireplace.
The sense of relaxed tactility in this space is brilliant such as the wall hanging storage built all around the suite.
The King size bed, with the flat-screen TV, was a nice view to watch for my daughter.
It was ever so much fun and over the the top to actually have another TV within the fireplace to compete on who could be the loudest on Netflix.
The partition wall between the sleeping room and lounge was a clever idea. So when I would wake up through the night. I could turn on the lights and work without disturbing my daughter. The sofa was comfortable and when lying down to look at through the large windows with so much natural light and green trees was a wellness treat within itself.
I have so much social media playtime here. The colourful ornaments were a nice touch too.
Fully Equipped Kitchen
To have access to a kitchen in such a stunning setting was wonderful. The shutter doors closing off the rest of the room meant no unwanted smells would lurk into the rest of the suite. It also meant if I woke up early for a coffee or tea I could close them without disturbing others.
The Kitchen included the following:
- Microwave Oven
- Toaster
- Refrigerator (Full)
- Dishwasher
- Pots/Pans/Serving Dishes
- Plates/Glassware Villeroy & Bosh
- Silverware
The stylish dining table and chairs were picturesque, comfortable and stylish. I cooked a lovely meal here and the appliances and cookery were of a high standard. Great for families wanting to stay in and soak up the views.
Breakfast
I booked a time slot to collect my breakfast. I would recommend trying to get all your drinks first and then collect your food. To be able to sit with views and a setting such as this suite was monumental.
I am a big fan of the stunning parquet flooring. This suite was giving me plenty of interior design ideas if I ever wanted to live in a studio flat.
Bathroom
The bathroom had a shower with a black and white tile decor with the Dutch brand Rituals for bathroom amenities.
Conclusions
For those looking for an extended stay Suite in the Hague, this hotel is brilliant. It has the perfect mix of old interior and exterior details and mixes this with modern facilities. This is a perfect home away from home, you are living in the hotel instead of just only staying.
The blue library-style suite gave me so much playtime on social media, especially with the use of colour and ornaments. After exploring The Hague I loved coming back and soaking up both the inside and out. My daughter and I had such a family quiet time here. The space allowed me to embrace the love for interior design and be creative as this suite floor to ceiling space was ever-flowing of positive energy.
The location is spot on, super central in The Hague with everything within walking distance.
