United States: A two-day virtual Summit for Democracy
The United States is hosting a two-day democracy summit with about 110 countries to discuss the decline of global democracy. Some experts have criticised the choice of invitees, saying it includes governments with questionable human rights records. Critics of the talks say the US has yet to make progress on its own internal reforms, such as laws restricting voting rights.
