Afghanistan: New Taliban gov’t bans protests without prior approval

The interior ministry of the new Taliban government wants to put an end to days of demonstrations during which security forces assaulted protesters. The group says demonstrators must get prior permission to protest and officials must approve slogans and banners. On Tuesday, the Taliban used gunfire to disperse crowds in Kabul.
