Democrats shift blame for Afghanistan withdrawal chaos to Trump

The United States Secretary of State has defended the handling of the military withdrawal from Afghanistan. Antony Blinken told a congressional hearing on Monday that President Joe Biden had made the right decision to end the United States's longest war. Republican legislators took shots at the Secretary of State and Biden during the hearing, even calling for Blinken to resign at one point. However, congressional Democrats were quick to point out that the previous Trump administration had negotiated directly with the Taliban for an even earlier pull out of American troops.
