French cement company Lafarge awaits ruling on role in Syrian war

France's highest court is due to rule on whether cement company Lafarge should face charges of complicity in crimes against humanity for its operations in Syria in 2013 and 2014. It is alleged to have paid almost $15.3m to the ISIL (ISIS) group when the country's civil war was at its peak to keep its factories running in northern Syria. The indictments include those of financing terrorism, endangering life and violating an embargo.
